This week (Friday October 16) saw the 5th webinar in the KASS series. Information about the webinar can be seen in a previous post.The topic attracted a lot of interest and we were very happy to welcome more than 170 attendees.

The presenters gave some very interesting introductions to the world of automated language, using a corpus to study language and how people communicate online. What was very apparent was the speakers’ evident enthusiasm for their topic, as well as their depth of knowledge. Not only were we introduced to some important concepts, the speakers also gave us links for useful tools that can be implemented in the study of technology and linguistics.
