“When you learn and do something you love, the best things will follow” : A Graduation Speech by Mereditha, Part 2
One of our students, Mereditha Dyah Kristianti was trusted to deliver the graduation speech on Binus graduation ceremony on July 30, 2015. Out of 3.000 graduates, Mereditha was elected because of her Summa Cum Laude graduation status( a GPA of 3.99). Her speech talked of her personal reflection on life and love toward English department and Binus University , as it also expressed hope and optimism for the future.
I will never forget to thank God for his blessings and for giving me the most incredible parents who have been my strongest support system.
Remember, It might take different time for everyone to figure out what you really like and love, but I believe, to know yourself better is important and it takes a constant effort.
And, at the end of the day it will be worth it.
When you learn and do something you love, the best things will follow. It will not happen overnight, and it might not always be pretty and rainbow. It rains many times, but something good will come along.
Therefore, take your time to figure out what you want to do in life. It is okay to make mistakes but make sure you learn something from it. It should also bring you closer to what you really want to do. Go out and live your life to the fullest.
This day marks our new beginning as a person. No matter where we go after this – you might work in a company or build your own business – remember to always ask yourself this: Have I listened to my intuition? Am I doing something I really love?
It always starts with a question, but it is something that will change your life. It certainly changed mine.
I am here to say that I hope we are all going to make it.
Congratulations once again to all of us for making it this far.
Thank you for your time.
