Passion is the heart of working.

It is not uncommon to hear such a statement now. This extends to a point where any works which we might have later on can become a burden if we excluded that passion in our work.

This similar statement is also given by Wendi Putranto on Thursday last week. In one of the workshops which was held by English Literature Department as a series of Global Learning System program at BINUS. Wendi Putranto shared his story as an executive editor for Rolling Stone Indonesia magazine. He told the history of Rolling Stone and his own experience in music journalism. Consistency and passionate efforts are the magic qualities that successfully make him as he is now.

Wendi Putranto, who was also formerly works as a band manager for The Upstairs, told the participant about the difference between Rolling Stone in Indonesia and other country. In his later discussion, he informed about the role of Rolling Stone as one of the most influential music magazine. This idealism is fitting through its high standardization in discussing music, film and lifestyle of Indonesia.

He also added his opinion about the music that is now developing in the country. Wendi took Payung Teduh as an example. He said that popular music nowadays is not described as the one we see often in television or find in radio. On the contrary, the air time frequency takes the value more as a benchmark for defining a famous music group [LR].
