English department – Industry Internship program

Seven of our 5th semester students are doing internship for six months this semester.  Dena, Linda, Cynthia and Marita are doing it in BCA while Jennifer , Okta and  Vania are doing it ACT! Digital , Achilles and  Notre Damme School.

The seven girls are trusted to be in charge with a variety of tasks. The four girls doing their internship in BCA are placed in some different units. The placement  was based on the result of the tests that BCA made all the internship applicants do. The results brought the Cynthia to Cash Management unit, Dena and Linda to Strategy and Development unit, and Marita  in Public Relations unit. After only a few days, the girls reported that they have learned lots of new information.

Okta, who is doing her internship in Achilles, is finding that her internship days has taught her lots of lessons on working professionally in the field of public relations. The picture was taken when she was assisting the Public Relation team activity.

Following up their passions, Jennifer and Vania are working in the fields of their choices, i.e. Digital Media and Education. Jennifer is trusted to manage the content of the ACT web where she edits, creates and updates the English content of the web.

Vania, chose to do an internship in a school where she feels she is most attached to. She shared  her new experience of being given the responsibility of planning, teaching and evaluating her students’ performance  as well as her own teaching performance.

It has been a month since the seven girls do their internship. We believe that the experience of getting into the fields are giving them the real-life exposures of professional world. (IR)
