The Complexity and the Dynamic of PR world : A lesson learned
06PAG for Public Relation class went to Fortune PR with our beloved lecturer, Ms. Rizka Widayati. The purpose was to widen students’ knowledge about public relation and what public relation does in real life, directly from the public relation practitioners. This also gave chance to know deeper about Fortune PR as one of famous Public Relation Consultant in Indonesia. Furthermore, the session answered students’ curiosity about being in the company by joining internship and recruitment.
There were 33 people visiting the company including our lecturer. Everybody showed nothing but excitement for this company visit. They had such a pleasant time during the session with Q&A time and quiz on twitter. Some of them got special souvenir from the company.
The opening speech was given by one of internees at Fortune PR, Eky. Then the session went to the introduction of Fortune PR by Ms. Putri. She shared the history of Fortune PR, which was founded in 1984 and is now one of PT. Fortune Indonesia Tbk.’s units that functions as PR consultant. Furthermore, Fortune PR was awarded as 2012 Southest Asia Consultancy of the Year Asia Pacific SABRE Awards, and 2012 Southeast Asia PR Agency of The Year CAMPAIGN Asia Pacific Awards. The clients of the company come from various fields such as IT, healthcare, and many more.
After the introduction of the company, this session continued to the main discussion, which was “Public Relation and Intergrated Communications” by Mr. Oscar Prajnaphalla. He is the manager of marketing communication in Fortune PR and also manager of Corporate Communication in PT. Fortune Indonesia Tbk. In this discussion, students were seen to be amazed following examples of holding campaigns with Public Relation analysis elements on it.
At the end of the session, students were having a good time in office tour provided by Fortune PR staffs.
The visit gave students’ new lessons about the job as PR consultant. It depeened their knowing of Public Relation especially what is important to run a campaign and to satisfy the clients. The session pushed them to think outside the box to make a creative campaign without forgetting the fundamental elements of Public Relation. Eventually, the office tour made their eyes open about what kinds of divisions and its function as well in a PR consultant which support the whole company in public.
