Abdul Aziz ‘Comi’ Turhan Kariko is a university lecturer on the weekdays and a musician on the weekends. He has been teaching English at BINUS University’s English Department for 12 years with subjects such Public Speaking, Popular Culture, Introduction to Indonesian Music and Culture, Introduction to Philosophy, as well as teaching General English at other departments. He earned his bachelor's degree majoring on English at Bina Nusantara University. Soon after he graduated, he immediately attended postgraduate program at University of Indonesia majoring on Cultural Studies. As a lecturer, he is certified by the government with the academic rank of Lector. Comi is currently a doctoral candidate at University of Indonesia, continuing his passion with Cultural Studies. Some of his research focus on Literature, Popular Culture, and Education.

As a musician, he is the co-founder of an award-winning indie music group, Payung Teduh, where he plays upright bass in the band. He also has a metal band called Logamulia which they earned two nominations in a row at Indonesian Music Awards for Best Metal Production. Comi is a keen martial arts enthusiast with a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His passion in martial arts also led him to start his own Mixed Martial Arts podcast called Indo Octagon MMA, covering major MMA events every month.
