Higher Education for Every Woman_Part 2
By Henny Lina / 1st Year Student
According to data by U.S. Census Bureau, a country which is recorded the lowest percentage of divorce is New Jersey. Married couples in New Jersey are exceptionally well-educated. 42% of couples who marry in New Jersey have bachelor’s degrees, compared to a national rate of only 31%. Naomi Cahn, a professor at George Washington University Law School, explains that: “Marriages are more likely to last for longer periods of time when people marry at an older age, have a higher education and earn more, and New Jersey scores high on these three criteria” (Maselli, 2014).
After seeing these evidences, the paradigm, that women’s higher education is unnecessary, is irrelevant. In family, a man may be the captain, but a woman is the navigator, who has responsibilities to plan or find the right direction, For these reasons, they need higher education for it is not only developing their awareness of responsibility and liability, but also enhancing their knowledge and capability to deal with life’s hardship. Furthermore, it definitely contributes to better generation and better world in a whole.
