Attending Public Lecture on Filmmaking by UK Movie Makers
Our students were thrilled to attend a Public Lecture presented by British Council and some prominent UK movie makers on Friday, February 27. Taking place in Binus university FX campus, the lecture was a casual, yet packed with useful information . The speakers: Kevin Dolan, Andy Brunskill and Ken Marshall, shared the nuts and bolts of Filmmaking in The United Kingdom and The General Principles of Producing Microbudget Films.
Nine of our students taking Introduction to film Studies course, joined the Public Lecture by invitation and participated well in a two-way public lecture. From the session, they learned about the history of filmmaking in the UK and some highlights on making films by relying on micr0 budgets.
In English department, we have always considered that film, or movie if you prefer to call it, as an important medium of communication, expression of ideas and the depiction of social life that can be seen from different angles. And for that reason, Andreas Akun brought his students to this inspiring and informative session.
We thank British Council for the invitation [irf].
