Innovirus 2014 Exhibition Day : Let’s Innovate!
The Exhibition Day of Innovirus 2014 was held on December 13th, 2014 to celebrate the innovations made by first-year Humanities students. Nine weeks ago, hundreds of new students of the faculty were gathered in Anggrek campus Auditorium and were given the task of inventing something that could be useful for the community.
Working in an average of 8 members in a group, the new students learned to work together with other students of different departments . In this case, an English department student may work collaboratively with one student from Japanese, Chinese, International Relations, Business Law, and Psychology departments. The idea of the program was, according to Dr. Johannes, A.A., Rumeser, M.Psi.Psi, to condition students with creative thinking to solve problems and working as team members in productive manners.
On the occasion, the committee invited two guesses who are now running two innovative business to share their ideas in a talk show. Riza, who is running an online dating site and Nadya, an owner of a baby food business shared the journey and the ventures of their start ups. Many of us attendees were inspired by the struggles that the guesses had to experience in making their dream business come true.
While the talk show was on progress, a group of juries were observing, asking questions and scoring the products made by students. Chaired by the Dean himself, the juries visited each stand and talked to the inventors of the products who were so keen in sharing the development process and the selling points of the products they made.
