On 23 February 2026, an international seminar was held at BINUS University’s Anggrek Campus, taking place in the exhibition hall on the third floor, and was titled The Spanish Golden Age: Lope de Vega and Diego Velázquez. The event had Spanish lecturer Alba Pomares Mateo as the speaker, with Andreas Akun of the Creative Digital English (CDE) as moderator.

As the seminar’s title indicates, the main topic revolved around Lope de Vega and Diego Velázquez, two key figures of the Spanish Golden Age. Their works were covered thoroughly, most prominent among them being De Vega’s Fuenteovejuna. These art pieces, along with the Renaissance and Baroque periods of European art, were compared and contrasted with art from our current era, demonstrating that they still had a place in this day and age. Participants were also invited to create new interpretations of Las Meninas, one of Velázquez’s paintings, using AI image generation and post them on Padlet.

The presentation ended with a quote from Fuenteovejuna, symbolizing unity and solidarity: “Todos a una, ¡Fuenteovejuna!” (“All together, Fuenteovejuna!”).
