Empowering Education: CDE at LTTC 2025
On 7 November 2025, our own Maria Tamarina Prawati took the stage at the 12th International Language and Language Teaching Conference (LTTC) among other speakers to present a paper researched by her and Irfan Rifai.
LTTC is organized by Sanata Dharma University’s English Language Education Study Program in Yogyakarta. This year’s conference discussed AI, language education, cultural transformation, AI-assisted assessment, multimodality in EFL classrooms, and preserving cultural identity in the AI era and so on, all encompassed in the main theme of “Bridging Digital Frontiers”. According to Ms. Maria, the conference provided her with a different perspective of AI integration within the teaching and learning of English, recalling how keynote speakers would open a room for discussion and negotiation on how far the ethical agencies of teachers and students can go in the use of AI.

The research that Ms. Maria presented was about the experiences of Indonesian college students in deriving meaning from self-produced audio stories, using two audiobooks and 29 participants. It involves a thorough analysis of tone and pitch patterns, rising intonation and perception of the audiobook narrator.
We wish Ms. Maria the best in her and Mr. Irfan’s research, as well as congratulate her for her presentation!
