The was poem inspired by a novel “Minor Detail” written by Adania Shibli.

Context/Plot

The plot revolves around two parallel stories separated by decades. In the first part, set in 1949, Israeli soldiers capture and rape a young Palestinian woman, and kill and bury her in the sand. In the second part, many years later, the narrative shifts to an unnamed female narrator who becomes obsessed with the minor details of the aforementioned story. She embarks on a journey to uncover the truth and to understand why she feels connected to it. As she investigates, she reflects on the broader themes of history, memory, and the impact of political and social forces on individuals.
