One of the noticeable impacts of technology is on how people are learning language. There is now a plethora of applications, websites and online courses for students to choose from. This is especially relevant when we are considering how young learners acquire language.

On the 14 November, English Department students attended an online seminar on this very topic. The presentation was lead by Ms. Lenny Marlina from MY World, Singapore. We are also very happy to announce that the session also included a presentation by Melody, an English Department Alumni. Melody achieved  exceptional results as an undergraduate with us and displayed positive energy and enthusiasm for her studies. We are sure that Melody’s input stood as an inspiration for our current undergraduate students. This session was moderated by Ibu Wiwiek, a Senior Lecturer at the English Department.
