The English Department is proud to announce the successful completion of Maria Tamarina Prawati’s PhD thesis defense, which was conducted on Wednesday August 26. The defense was delivered to professors of Atma Jaya University using online communication.

Maria’s thesis was focused on English language culture and paradigms from the perspectives of students and teachers. The title of her study was: “English Language and Culture in Jakarta: An Inquiry into Lecturers’ and Students’ Views on Interculturality.”

This was a public defense and Maria was supported by several colleagues from the English Department. We can now address her as Dr. Maria Tamarina Prawati ??????
