On 10th January 73 English Department  students from Semester 1 travelled to Saung Mangudjo, in Bandung, West Java. This trip was part of their studies in Indonesian language, culture and society. Saung Mangudjo is a cultural centre that promotes the experience of Sundanese culture. The students enjoyed a performance of Indonesian music in the form of bamboo pipes called ‘Angklung’ as well as a puppet performance called ‘Wayang Golek’. This was followed by a late lunch of local Sundanese cuisine. Here are some photos from the event:
