As part of our annual activity, the faculty members of Faculty of Humanities got together on July 7 to hold a Breaking Ramadan Fast function. Although not all of us practice the fast, everyone attending the function rejoiced in harmony to chat , listened to tausyiah and entertainment, and had a bit of discussion on the meaning of ramadan.

Opened by religious songs, the function went on with speeches from the Dean of our faculty, Dr. Johannes, A.A., Rumeser, M.Psi.,Psi and from Salamun, a representative  from the employees. Irfan, then moderated a tausiah session delivered by Abdul Rasyid, a faculty member from Business Law department. Abdul Rasyid was doing an impressive job sharing the history, the essence and the meaning of ramadan fast to muslims.

Dr. Johannes, A.A., Rumeser, M.Psi.,Psi gave an example of what ramadan truly means: to share.  Representing all the employees at the faculty, he presented some eid al fitr  bonus  to some employees that we thought would deserve it. The Cleaners’ on site Supervisor, Yusuf, representing all the cleaners in accepting the bonus.

The function was ended by Adzan, the muslims’ prayer call , which was also meant that it was time to enjoy the food that we have prepared. One of the employees, Pepeng, shared his opinion on the function : ” I have been working for Binus for years and I can only tell that the bond that the employees  in Kijang campus has  is just getting stronger”. We certainly hope so, Pepeng. [irf]
