On October 29, HIMSI members had their last day of votes for the club’s presidential election for the period of 2014 -2015. The election, which was run from October 27 to October 29, involved most English department students who took the opportunity to vote one of the following candidates:
On the final voting day, the committee invited lecturers to take part in the final chance for the candidates to convince fellow activists to vote for them. After candidates’ speeches, Akun, Wiwik , Comi and David tested the responses of the candidates by asking some trivial, yet, tricky questions. Zelika, Dennis and Frans answered the questions confidently and cheered by many of their supporters .
After questions from fellow activists, the election committee proceeded with the calculation of the votes of the day and the votes they have gathered previously on Monday and Tuesday. Initially, the votes were very tight as the three candidates seemed to balance in the number of supporters making their vote on the the final day.
Congratulations Zelika! We believe that with your leadership, HIMSI will only get getter, bigger and would have wider impact to its members. English department wishes to thank Riza for his leadership in 2014. We hope that the experience of being a president of a student organization has made you a better person and that you will develop better professionally.
