We had a wonderful opportunity to communicate with our currently – overseas lecturer, Mr. Wishnoebroto, on Saturday, June 8th, 2013 in which he shared his views on US: his views on current events and internship programs in US and what we can learn from them.
Mr. Wishnoebroto is currently doing a non-degree program and acts as Professional Affiliation – Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at Virginia Tech University, USA. He does lots of research-based activities on educational topics such as educational technology. He has been in States for a year and will soon return to us in July. As we couldn’t wait to hear his stories, we invited Pak Wishnoe to have a one hour skype session to mainly talk about internship issues, one that semester 6 students are concerning about.
On the opportunity, Pak Wishnoe stressed on the importance of paying attention to the values and cultures of companies / countries if students are to embark into professional world. He especially gave samples of his own experience while observing college life in the US.
Around 65 students and 6 lecturers were attending the conference. Some students asked important questions related to the internship issues. These questions were mostly about the internship opportunities, challenges and differences between doing internship programs in US and in Indonesia.
The teleconference was ended 15 minutes before 9. We really thank Pak Wishnoe for making time to hold a Teleconference with us and looking forward to having him back in July.
See you soon, Sire!
