The Kapita Selekta classes welcomed an old member of the English department big family graduated in 2002: Dalia Sutjiadi, now with her capacity as the Head of Business Development from a growing nation – wide freight forwarding company, JNE. As a student Dalia was President of English department student Association (HIMSI) and a producer in Binus Campus Radio (BVoice). She was here on May 11 to fulfill an invitation made by our senior lecturer, Wiwik Andreani.

On the session Dalia talked about her personal journey as an English department graduate and her professional journey after the memorable college years. When talking to her juniors, Dalia was being straightforward and presented them with the hard facts of the current economy and how as third year students they should start ‘hunting’ for job vacancies. Dalia also shared some important information on the skills that Fresh graduates would need to win the competitions.

Students responded enthusiastically to the lecture made by a senior, whose background they can easily relate. We would like to thank Dalia for putting this lecture amidst her busy schedule and to especially motivate her juniors to prepare for the near future challenges. [irf]
