It was a rare opportunity for many of us here at English department to have  two personnel of  Payung Teduh band, Is and Comi, being together on a different kind of  stage : an academic one.  A stage that is more familiar for Akun, an English department senior lecturer  and Comi,a lecturer at English department and a bass player for Payung Teduh.

The trio elaborated the most likely places and forms where music and literature may meet. While Akun was exploring the issues from academic perspectives,  Is was bringing back the audiences to the creative process of his song writing. Comi, having lived in both worlds for several years, was acting as bridge in the discussion, sharing his thoughts on the meanings of Payung Teduh lyrics.
