As one  of the 1300 member of the big family of Chevening Scholarship  awardees in Indonesia , our very own Head of Department, Risa, R. Simanjuntak, fulfilled an invitation extended by the British Embassy Jakarta on February 26, 2015. Risa did her second master degree, after the first master  degree from Melbourne University in Applied Linguistics in 2004,  in International Education Management from Leeds University and finished with flying colors in 2006.

Attending the event was the British Ambassador ,  His Excellency Moazzam Malik, who awarded some Chevening scholars who have  shown commitment to maintain good relationship with the embassy and have contributed to both Indonesian and British communities. Quoting from the British Embassy website, the following is the remark of His Excellency on the evening:

” The Chevening Scholarships Programme is a globally renowned scheme. Scholars come from 118 countries, and this year the Scholarships will support more than 600 future leaders. Risa expressed her delight to have been invited to an event that makes it possible for her to strengthen the bond that she has with other alumni in both personal and professional terms [irf}.
